I love memes. We’ve discussed this before. So when I saw MoFM’s meme, I was thrilled. And then heartbroken because she didn’t pick me. Then I was okay because her picks? Were good picks. Also, I know she’s totally my BFF and knew I would just know that the whole thing about not having to pick your favorite blog EVAR!! meant that she knew I already knew my blog is totally her favorite. If blogs were cell phones, my blog would totally be in her Fave Five. Or her Alltel circle. Or something. But I digress.
San Diego Momma did pick me for her take on this meme. I was happy, but then I realized that meant she’d already been tagged, and HOW COULD I TAG HER IF SHE’S ALREADY BEEN TAGGED?!? Then I remembered about the “doesn’t have to be your favorite five” clause, and I started breathing again. Also, the post Deb chose to represent me to all her readers? Surprising choice, but one of which I’m proud to be the author. I still stand by every word of that sucker.
Probably by now you just want me to do the effing meme already…or at least explain the effing rules. So, for those of you who don’t click links in posts, here are the rules (per MoFM, it is her meme, after all):
“I want to hear which specific post got you hooked on the blogs that you read regularly. You only have to choose 5 blogs. This way, you won’t feel bad for leaving anyone out. And it can be 5 RANDOM blogs. You don’t have to claim these 5 blogs as your 5 FAVORITE blogs. Get what I’m getting’ at? Good.”
First up, “Missypedia“. Okay, so Missy is totally my, IDK, BFF, but her food blog makes me want to try new things. Her food blog has made me seriously reconsider my hatred of all things that might possibly be vegetables. I even thought about trying mushrooms once…then I remembered that mushrooms are Mother Nature’s athlete’s foot, and I got over it. This recipe, though? OMG! YUM! And easy-peasy. I promised Missy to adopt an orphan and name it after her for that recipe.
Next up, “So anyway…“. If you haven’t already added this one to your Google reader, go do that. I’ll wait. This post was the one that got me forever hooked. Finally, I wasn’t the only mom in the world who thought letting a little girl take care of some potentially embarrassing issues (hairy pits, hairy legs, unibrow) was making her “grow up too fast”.
“One La Costa Mom” is another blog on my list of must-reads. This post? Yup. That’s the one. If I could have kissed Melanie’s face that day, I might have done that. Which might have weirded her out and made her not like me, so it’s probably good that I couldn’t kiss her face that day.
“We Make Three” is one of those crafty, artsy type people who makes really killer wall art out of like toilet paper rolls and tape. She’s MacGyver’ing crafts. And they look fabulous. I would hate her, but Myra is one of those people it’s absolutely impossible to hate because she’s just so darn nice. This post, however, made me LOL.
“Cupcake Martini” had me with her blog’s name really, but this post sealed the deal. She’s another one of those artsy, crafty types. She’s also busy being a “Dirty Girl”, and she doesn’t post as much as she used to. I’m sort of hoping this meme will inspire her to COME BACK TO BLOGLAND. Oh. Sorry.
Now. Your turn.
