If I’m on yours and you want one back, remove me from your list. Here’s why — I will forget to buy Christmas cards until approximately Dec. 16th (Matt’s birthday), if at all. I will then take said Christmas cards home with lots of good intentions about filling them out and sending them off. I will then promptly forget about those cards when we get home, and I realize I need to put things away, wrap gifts, etc.
I will find said cards around Dec. 22nd or 23rd. I will decide to go ahead and fill out the cards and send them anyway, thinking “better late than never”. I will fill out the cards and address them. I will not, however, have stamps for the cards, so I will place the filled-out stack of cards somewhere for Bill to take to the post office and mail. I will promptly forget to tell Bill about the stack of cards that need to be mailed.
Around January 1st, I will see the stack of cards and decide that we really should send them, even though it’s past Christmas. I will move the cards somewhere so that I will remember them and tell Bill to send them. I will not, however, put them in plain view, so I will promptly forget all about them yet again. Around St. Patrick’s Day, I’ll remember them and decide to save them for Christmas of that year. Around May Day, I will go into a fit of housecleaning frenzy and throw the cards away since they’re now “old.”
Rinse. Repeat.
