That’s me. Well, sort of. Mostly, I’ve been busy doing things that aren’t terribly productive but loads of fun. My little sister is here, and so we’ve been doing stuff. Fine. We’ve been playing The Sims 2 since I got the Bon Voyage expansion. Leave us alone. We like being goddesses, okay?
ANYway, yesterday was Mr. Bill’s birthday. And like every other birthday, my goal was to get him a gift that would make him squeal with excitement like a little kid. And like every other birthday, I failed. Oh, don’t get me wrong. He liked the gifts we got him. I think he might have even been an eensy bit excited, but the strongest response I got was, “Cooool” with a big grin. Not exactly the same as making him squeal like a 12 year old meeting Hannah Montana, but I’ll take it. Until next year, when I try again anyway.
In honor of Mr. Bill’s birthday (even though I’m late), I want to write nice things about him. He’s a wonderful husband. No, no, I know what you’re thinking — everyone thinks their man is the best. However, mine actually is one of the best. I hear it all the time from jealous wives (I love you anyway, SarahD — heeeeee!), and even though I don’t always remember that he’s wonderful, I do know that I’m a lucky, lucky girl.
How many guys do you know that will take on a coupla kids and raise ‘em as their own? And I mean that quite seriously — as their own, not just being a good stepfather or even a great stepfather, but being a great dad to all of the kids, not just the one he helped make? I’m hoping you know more guys like that than I do because in all honesty? Bill is the only one I’ve ever met.
Also, Bill’s primary thought in nearly everything he does is the happiness of the rest of this motley crew. Not his own happiness, but ours and especially mine. I don’t know many guys who are like that, but Bill very much is. I have a long list of kooky shit I’ve done that he’s been completely onboard with, and I do mean completely onboard. Oh, don’t get me wrong — he’s saved me from myself a time or three-thousand, but if it’s harmless? He’s got my back and usually the funding for whatever hijinks I’m about to get into.
I think this sums things up for me — I asked Bill if there was anything I do that makes him completely insane. (This was during a conversation in which I was letting him know that there’s one thing he does that makes me nuts.) He sat and pondered it and then said, very sincerely, “No.” Boy, did I feel like a superbitch that day.
At any rate, I love Mr. Bill. He makes me nuts on occasion, but I can’t think of anyone else in the world so perfect for me. I don’t even want to try. Happy Birthday, babe.

Aww. That was a very sweet thing you did. And I’m glad you have your Mr. Bill! :*)
Most of the time, I am, too. :D
Awwwwwww, yay. I’m glad you took the time out to give him some love on your blog. Also I know a way to make him squeal like a girl. You and the kids need to team up and plan a sneak attack. Then with 4 little and two grown up hands tickle him until he squeals. Of course this only works if he’s ticklish and in the end will only satisfy the squealing part and not as much the excitement part. But hey, it works!!!
Happy Birthday BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much. I love you.
Bill - I love you, too.
