I swear, someone should just make me give up getting new stuff. I get all cracked out on it, then totally lose interest after about a week. The only thing that’s stood any test of time here is my not-so-recent decision to leave LJ for a bigger blogging pond. I still maintain that I’m happy with that decision. I could go into my reasons for the switch again, but let’s save that for another day. (I feel an FAQ post coming! Squee with me, kids!)

However, I find myself constantly on the lookout for things that make my non-LJ blogs just a little more LJ-like. For example, I spent a few hours today looking for a plug-in to make WordPress commenting behave the way LJ comments do. (No such luck, kids. The best I can do for you is a subscribe-to-comments box which will mail you all the comments made here, not just the threads you’re interested in.)

Apparently, Missy felt this same compulsion, as she’s the one who hunted down the plug-in that lets us have userpics on our posts. I can do nothing but laugh. You can take the girl out of the LJ, but you can’t make her not love some of its features.
