I was driving my kids to camp Friday morning and stressing a little about what I would write for the blog. That’s the main reason I don’t blog myself — too much pressure. And to blog for Steph, well, I have to amuse. Entertain. Make Bulgarians want to stand up and cheer. So I was thinking about all this and I looked around thinking, “This camp is really pretty. Wish someone could be along for the ride as I drive in.” Come on, I’ll take you with me.

That is the main drive on the right. You can’t see it very well in this picture, but there’s a wooden sign just before the turn.

Here’s the start of the drive in. Winding road through the woods, very pretty.
This is the pond where they fish, with pieces of bologna as bait. of all things. I thought this was where they canoed, too, but was told “No, we do that at the canoe pond.” Huh. I didn’t even know there *was another pond.

More driving, more winding.
This is a “one room schoolhouse” replica that’s built on the property. In the back is a covered bridge and behind that is a real cemetary from the family that used to live on and own this land.

Off yonder is a cabin. Very Little House on the Prairie, ain’t it?
Almost there…
Here’s where the parents park.
This is the main camp area. There’s a flagpole and they do a flag ceremony every morning. I remember doing that! So fun. Riley has “performed” at many a flag ceremony. By “performed” I mean “recruited other girls to belt out Avril Levigne songs with her.”

The main camp building with a covered front porch — very important on rainy days.
And finally, the happy campers. Friday was the Camp Olympics and they all wore tie-dye shirts they made earlier in the week. Jensen stripped on the way to the car but she was wearing one too.
