A while ago, I made a decision that I would no longer discuss this broad because she’s one of those celebrities who’s famous for being famous. She’s done nothing worthwhile, nor does she have any talent. She was born to a wealthy family. That’s it; that’s all. I figure I’m doing my part to get her out of the effing spotlight by simply refusing to acknowledge her in any public forums.

Until this whole jail thing. And really, all I’m going to say about her now is that it pisses me off endlessly that this chick’s ongoing drama re: a mere forty-five days in the pokey not only clutters up my “Entertainment News” feeds, but my “News” feeds as well.

Can I assume from reading the headlines that a solution to our dependence on fossil fuels for energy has been found? Can I assume that we’ve found a way to reverse the greenhouse effect? Has Israel made friends with Palestine? Has the war in Iraq ended?

If the answer to all of these is a resounding “no” (and it is), then why in the hell are we getting “up-to-the-minute” coverage of Paris Hilton’s “jailhouse saga”? I realize that the media believes that all any of us dumb ol’ Americans care about is celebrity gossip, and we do care about it. However, we also know where to get that sort of “news,” so please stop feeding it to us on CNN, MSNBC, etc, for the love of God.
