The Soundtrack of My Life

A while back, I promised Lisa I would post a soundtrack of my life. I figure I might as well post what I’ve come up with so far, else I’ll never post any of it. As I think of more, I’ll post more. I can feel your excitement, people. I love y’all, too. :tearwipe:

The ’70s
This list isn’t so great since I was pretty young in the ’70s. :dodges Lisa: But wait, Lis’, before you smack me, you should know I know what this is and how to use it. Also? I want one.

The Carpenters (Man, who doesn’t love the Carpenters?)
Gloria Gaynor - “I Will Survive” My mother played this so often, she had to replace the 45 at least once. 45…man, I kinda miss those.
Queen…really anything by them.
Anne Murray - “You Needed Me” I can distinctly remember my mom singing this to me when I was five or so. It’s a good memory.
The Beatles
Pat Benatar - “Heartbreaker”
Barbra Streisand’s “Superman” album.
That’s about all I can come up with right now. There’ll be more later, I’m sure.

The ’80s
My mom worked in a radio station for the first coupla years in the ’80s. Back then, the weekly Top 40 with good ol’ Casey Kasem was on vinyl. As soon as the station had aired it, those records got sent home for my enjoyment. I also got all the station’s “old” 45s (anything that had left the Top 40). I was so cool.

Oh, and to add to my supreme coolness, I was the only kid in my school who had real, live, on the radio DJs for my parties. DJs we heard every, single day! Man. I was the epitome of cool.

Bruce Springsteen - “Hungry Heart”
Hall & Oates - “Private Eyes”
Pat Benatar - “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”, “Love is a Battlefield”
John Lennon - “Woman”
Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton - “Islands in the Stream” (God help me.)
Anything from Flashdance or Fame
Barbra Streisand’s entire “Guilty” album…no, seriously. But what makes it worse? I’ve since downloaded it. ~What kind of fool tears it apart, leaving me pain and sorrow…~ Man. That is one good song. Shut.up.
Bertie Higgins - “Key Largo”
Air Supply
Styx - “Babe”, “Mr. Roboto”, “Come Sail Away”…oh hell, y’all know which ones.
Journey. Oh God, Journey.

Alright. I know there are tons more, but I’m pretty much all done for now. It’s bedtime for this girl. And no, I am not listening to “What Kind of Fool” before I head off to bed. No, really. I’m not. Stop laughing! :scowl:

  1. Despite the snipes about my age, that’s a pretty good list. I think I disliked most of those songs, but I sure remember them. ;-) But to be fair, since you admitted to the Streisand thing, I own “Evergreen.”

You are entirely too good looking for your own good, and I so understand the cougar thing. Oh, eww. I just icked myself out with that. Seriously, though, you're also a good guy. Total package.
