Today was one of those days. And I did sleep later than usual which unfortunately did not increase my thinking skillz at all. It did increase my patience, though. Since Lenna stayed home today, increased patience was probably better than gooder think-making.
Yes, Lenna stayed home from school. No, she wasn’t sick. She was just tired. She had a slumber party to attend Saturday night, and then she didn’t get to bed ’til late last night because we were at Becky’s hotel saying goodbye. Also? We didn’t have time this weekend for me to teach her how to make friendship bracelets. That’s a big deal, you know.
So, today Tricia, Lenna and I slept in. When we got up and all of us were fed, Lenna learned how to make friendship bracelets while Tricia looked on in amazement. Well, part of the time Tricia looked on in amazement. The rest of the time, she drooled and slept. (And farted, but she probably wouldn’t want me to tell that part.) But she’s only 2 months old. Cut her some slack.
Lenna caught on to the whole thing fairly quickly, and I’m hoping she makes those the new hot accessory ’round here ’cause boy, was I a *fierce friendship bracelet maker in my day. Zig-zag bracelets? Check. Totem poles? Check. Chevron? Psht. Easy. Broken Ladder? Got it. Seriously, people, I was *fierce. Also, it’s kind of craft-y, and well, I’m not so long on the ol’ craft-y type skills. I need anything I can get.
So, I lost points toward my MotY for keeping Lenna out of school just so she could learn to make a friendship bracelet get some extra sleep, but I made them up by not killing and eating her when she kept whining about it being hard teaching her how to make friendship bracelets.
