So, after Tricia’s ped appointment, we went to Bill’s workplace to show Tricia off. Except we got there around noon. Lunchtime. Guess how many people were there? (Oh, that reminds me — Robert L? I was very, very sad that I didn’t get to meet you, in particular. Anyone who has ever referred to my husband as StrongSad should be my friend.)

But the people who were there were all very, very nice people, not that I’ll remember any of them when I see them again since I have a hard time remembering who the little urchins with their faces in my fridge are these days, and I gave birth to those urchins. So there you go.

ANYway, I got to meet (and thank) the women who coordinated the surprise baby shower. Now, y’all, I am telling you — there is nothing like a group of Southern women who get together and decide that they are, by GOD, going to do something up right. Nothing like it. And the women I met are very, very Southern. Which explains the fact that I now have a potty chair and a travel highchair in my closet, along with God alone knows how many sippy cups and bowls and baby utensils. But I digress.

It was very nice to go somewhere and talk to grownups. Okay. So we talked about the baby, but still. They were grownups. Real, live, actual grownups. Talking. Face to face. And I didn’t even say anything really stupid.

It was a shining moment in my life, so I had to chronicle it here.
