…as you all know has reached the teen years without being killed or even seriously maimed. We’re putting a check in the ol’ Win column on that one. I’m pretty sure there were more than a few family members who lost money on that deal. (FYI — I would not place bets that Lenna makes it to her teen years without one of us croaking. Fair warning.)
ANYway, the next goal is to get him through to adulthood without death or dismemberment. This is shaping up to be quite a challenge, people. I’m not sure I’m up for it really, given the boy’s behavior and attitude lately. Thankfully, Bill has the patience of a saint most of the time, so Matt just might see manhood after all.
Really, he’s a good kid, and he’s a pretty normal teenager. However, anyone who’s raised/is raising a teenager can tell you that “normal” becomes very, very relative when talking about a teenager.
So, I was thinking I’d write a parent’s guide to teens similar to the one I wrote about newborns. I then realized that if I could actually write something like that, I’d be stupid to post it to my blog where anyone could read it for free, as that would be a real moneymaker, even if it were only a page long.
So, here’s my advice — Xanax is a good thing. Your choice about to whom you administer it (you or the kid) since I hear it’s equally effective either way. If I figure out more than that, I’ll be sure to tell you where you can buy a copy.
