Alright, maybe it’s just me, but isn’t this a shade poorly planned?
Don’t get me wrong — I love Amanda Peet. (The “Whole Nine Yards” is probably one of my favorite movies ever.) From all that I’ve read, she’s a pretty cool person, in addition to being a damn funny actress. So, if she wants a baby, why shouldn’t she?
Well, here’s why — she’s launching a new series (”Studio 60…” which looks to be damn good) this month. I’m going to assume (and shut up about what assuming does, people) she waited until her 2nd trimester to announce her pregnancy. That means she’s going to deliver in 6 months (maybe less).
Now I realize that means she’s probably going to have the baby in the off-season. But what about that pesky baby belly betwixt now and then? I guess the writers can cover that, if need be, or that NBC will use the tried&true method of having her carry things to hide the belly.
Regardless, I wish her luck. As someone in their 2nd trimester, I can’t imagine taking my ass to work all day, every day, under hot lights and lots of pressure, so she deserves my kudos for that, at least. And, of course, a hearty congratulations on the baby. (Even if I disagree with her timing.)
