Huh. Does AI not do *any sort of background check on these folks? I realize that asking them to run a background check on *every person who does an initial audition is unrealistic, but how ’bout doing one between saying, “Welcome to Hollywood” and airing the season premiere? After all, this isn’t the first time an Idol contestant has had a legal problem or two come up. At what point are the producers going to say, “Hey! Maybe we should, I dunno, run a minimal background check.” Of course, this is presuming the producers don’t *want this publicity. That might be a huge presumption on my part.
