I absolutely can’t wait to hear what their defense is. And I’m also nearly breathless with anticipation about what their *parents are going to say in regards to these beatings.
I want to be sympathetic to the parents here. These are, after all, nearly adult children, and so no longer the responsibility of their parents. But honestly? I can’t find even a little sympathy. There are a great many things I can picture my children doing when they get older — savagely beating homeless men (or anyone else, for all that)? Not one of those things. These were attacks solely for the sake of hurting another human being. There wasn’t financial gain at stake or retribution for a perceived wrong or any other “typical” motive for homicide. These boys just beat the crap out of defenseless human beings because the boys *could. And *that would be the reason I can’t wait to hear the defense — how will they defend the indefensible?
